ZUNI BEADED GINGERBREAD HOUSE BY FARLAN QUETAWKI. Zuni beadwork has evolved from tourist souvenirs to detailed pieces of folk art.

With a continuous strand, Zuni beaders meticulously create beautiful patterns throughout their beadwork. This exquiste gingerbread house was hand beaded by Farlan Quetawki. 1 7/8" tall x 2 5/8" long x 2 3/8 wide. First the Zuni artists carve a wooden form and then they bead over it, using the peyote stitch and seed or glass beads. Zuni Pueblo is the largest pueblo in New Mexico, and because of its location, Zuni is the most traditional.
