Antique Blue Velvet Tobacco Pouch decorated with hand embroidered red velvet flowers with green embroidered stems. Measures 8" tall x 5" wide. Pull tie is a shoe lace and may be a replacement of the original tie.

Pouch is lined with outing flannel that is in excellent condition. The velvet is such a dark blue that it almost appears black on first glance. It reveals the bag was made by Sister Bora in 1902. Sister Bora was with the Roman Catholic Mission located in South Dakota.

This bag was on display in the Mission South Dakota museum until the late 1970's then placed in storage. A beautiful bag with a rich history.
