This larger beadwork piece and two pocket pieces were taken off a vest that they really shouldn't have been in. Someone took these really nice pieces and sewed them onto a modern vest. It might have been nice if the vest was nice but it wasn't. They're really nicely beaded.
Especially the large leaf where it is beaded in circles. And I'm sure that this is a way to identify the tribe that made these but I don't have the knowledge myself. The only way that I can date these is from the fabric that is used to line the pockets. I make quilts and a know a little about antique fabrics and that fabric is from around 1900 give or take a few years.
I've been looking at these with a magnifying glass and the beadwork is really nicely done. The larger piece is about 7 by 7 inches and the pocket pieces are 3 3/4 inches by 4 inches.
